I'm an entrepreneur turned executive through discipline, practice and time. When not running towards fear, I feed my passion for performance, technology and culture at Ping Identity, where we strive to secure the Internet thru identity, and do so without compromising values. I believe there is a science behind everything, especially business at scale. Repeatability doesn't happen by accident. It takes insight, skill and most of all, leadership. My leadership philosophy is simple. I strive for 10/10 when measuring attitude and performance. I believe people can improve their performance through practice and behavior if they are brave enough to look in the mirror. I believe balance is an active state and the key to sustained performance. Balancing long and short-term goals, wisdom vs exuberance, strategy and execution -- they are all exercises in balance. I believe in the wisdom of patience and the power of persistence. I've discovered the truth is often the opposite of conventional wisdom. Sometimes slower is faster and sometimes to lead one must support. With age I've become patient and with failure, I've become obsessed with improvement.My purpose isn't a casual pursuit, it's to build the worlds leading identity company, to enable, protect and defend identity, and to secure the Internet. I strive to do so without compromising the integrity of the how. Career1991 - KPMG in public accounting. 1993 - Founded Durand Communications where we built the worlds first Microsoft NT client/server bullet board. We sold the company in 1998. 1999 - Founded Jabber Inc. to commercialize the Jabber open source project. Cisco acquired Jabber in 2008. 2002 - Left Jabber to start Ping Identity.After 13 years as Ping's CEO, I proudly serve 1,500+ enterprises including over 50% of the Fortune 100.When I'm not thinking the future into reality, I'm with my incredible wife & daughters.
