Group Financial Controller

Peel Ports is a unique network of strategically situated ports, terminals, hubs, shipping lines and state-of-the-art services.

Experienced ACA qualified group financial controller, technically strong and commercially focused. Responsibilities include monthly management and shareholder reporting, half year and annual financial investor reporting including covenants and investor presentation materials, audit committee reporting, shareholder and financial investor support, ownership of the year-end close process including auditor engagement, managing budget setting and quarterly forecasts, business plan preparation, process and system improvements, supporting the implementation of SAP S4/Hana and working to maximise its commercial value to the business, balance sheet reviews, application of technical expertise to commercial opportunities including deal structuring, evaluation of acquisition targets and subsequent due diligence/integration, business transformation project support, competitor benchmarking, representing the group on industry-wide defined benefit pension scheme employer bodies, recruitment, managing and developing a team of 16 statutory and management accountants. Experience prior to joining Peel Ports includes 13 years at Ernst & Young ('EY'), specialising in managing complex/international audits for FTSE 100/250 and large private companies. Secondment experience includes 18 months with EY USA and four months at BUPA Care Homes project managing the integration of their largest business acquisition. Considerable experience of corporate finance transactions including debt refinancing, working capital reports, share and bond issues, acquisitions/disposals, due diligence reports and working with advisors, sponsors and brokers.
