Mr. Welch is Senior Control System Cyber Security Specialist with over sixteen years’ experience managing corporate networks, project management, compliance management, development of policies and procedures based on regulatory requirements, perform security architecture reviews, business risk assessments (Gap Analysis), business process audits, Internal Technology Audits, attack and penetration tests, network and host assessments and firewall reviews. He has focused on NERC CIP Compliance for Generation sites for the last five (5) years and has participated or has led numerous FAT/IFAT with DCS vendors such as Emerson, GE and Toshiba. Reviewed and developed security policies and procedures to ensure that clients follow industry best practices, as well as, assisted in the development of a HIPAA Compliance program, NERC Compliance, Sarbanes Oxley, and PCI guidelines following the British Standards 17799. Performed numerous SAS 70 and 5900 audits for clients in the telecommunications, insurance, and financial industries. Developed E-learning courses to comply with industry regulations in security awareness, security management, and incident response. Developed classroom based courses on advance hacking techniques; and developed a Computer Based Training course on Computer Crime Investigations and Forensics.
