Newmont Corporation, is into the metal and mining industry that focuses on the manufacturing and marketing of gold, copper, silver, zinc and lead.

I am Group Executive, Corporate Communications, for US-based gold producer Newmont Mining Corporation, the world's second largest gold mining company. I have been with the company since February 2007. At Newmont, I head up the company's global communications function including, media and public relations, internal communications, crisis management, digital media, and corporate giving. Prior to joining Newmont, I was Senior Vice President at MGA Communications, a public relations firm based in Denver, Colorado. During my six and a half years at the firm, I led successful communications programs and crisis response efforts for clients including the US Army, Shell and a consortium of coal producers, transporters and utilities. For 19 years I have developed and led communications programs in some of the most competitive media markets in the US including, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, CA, Atlanta, GA, and Denver, CO. Today, along with teams in Newmont’s four operating regions, I lead the company’s internal and external communications efforts. I have extensive experience in the high-pressure environment of political communications where I served as press secretary and spokesman for US Senate candidate and former Colorado first lady Dottie Lamm. I also worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC as Communications Director for Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, where my innovative approaches helped to significantly increase her national profile and reposition her to win one of the most hotly contested elections in 1996. Competing with nearly two-hundred writers who applied, I was among the first to be selected in 1999 as a Colorado Voices columnist with The Denver Post. In my columns I caught the attention of readers with novel ideas for tackling controversial issues. I hold an Honors BA in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
