Lover of the written word. I was co-editor of the class newspaper in year 4 of primary school. It was a sign. From that point on, I have embarked on a fulfilling career, featuring content writing in many forms. It’s the beautiful thing about writing – it’s powerful when done well. It can be manipulated and finessed for various platforms to achieve different goals. Along the way I have excelled as a regional Print Journalist and Editor (13 years), a University Media and Communications specialist (8.5 years) and a B2B Content Manager (8 months). I returned to the University in October 2020 and am relishing the opportunity to once again communicate the amazing stories of our world-leading researchers, exceptional institutional achievements and those of our diverse cohort of students, from across Australia and the world. As a content specialist, I offer writing expertise in media releases, website content, email direct marketing, blog and thought leadership articles, social media content, internal communications, brand messaging, editing and content planning. Nothing gives me a greater buzz than working with clients or stakeholders to craft purposeful content that hits the mark. Equally gratifying is using my communications skills in media liaison, issues management, strategic and corporate communications to offer insightful advice and guidance to protect brands and reputations. In a nutshell, I’m Carmen and I love all things content and communications.
