Leveraging over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, James Malick has operated several business areas across Millennium’s global activities and has played an instrumental role in Millennium's transformation into a world-class institution over the past decade James currently leads the Corporate Development & Strategy team within Millennium's Business Development function, focusing on driving strategic growth for the firm. During his Millennium career, he has operated Corporate Development, Business Strategy, Project Execution, Trading Services/Onboarding, Enterprise Data Analytics, Operational Risk Mgmt, Vendor Risk Mgmt, Business Continuity Mgmt, Technology Business Mgmt, Deputy COO/Chief of Staff, and Branding & Communications. James has been a key driver of many strategic initiatives including new business launches (new funds and new strategies), inorganic growth opportunities (acquisitions, spin-outs, JVs), new market entries (markets, asset classes, adjacencies), changes to capital structure, data analytics programs, and numerous multi-year projects to enhance the scalability of Millennium's infrastructure. James represents Millennium on the MFA’s Chief Operating Officer council and its Fintech Working Group. Prior to Millennium, James was a Partner & Managing Director at the Boston Consulting Group. As BCG's global topic leader in sales & trading, he built deep expertise in corporate finance and capital markets while advising executives at leading sell-side and buy-side institutions. James also co-headed BCG's Corporate Banking segment in North America, and in that capacity worked with regional and super-regional commercial banks, specialty finance companies, private credit funds and fintechs. He has been quoted frequently in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Euromoney, and numerous other market publications as an expert in growth strategies, new market entry, coverage model redesign, merger integrations, pricing strategies, organizational efficiency & effectiveness, offshoring & outsourcing, target operating model design, and optimization of non-comp expenses (e.g., brokerage fees, clearing fees, market data, real estate, etc.). Prior to consulting, James worked in fixed income institutional sales at Barclays Capital, FX options at Cantor Fitzgerald and commodities trading at ABN Amro, as well as loan restructuring / workouts and private investments (acquisitions and JVs) for a private equity fund.
