I am proud to look back at the cities I’ve worked in, knowing I’ve left them better. Real Estate gives you the opportunity to change landscapes, improve economies and enhance people’s lives. However, the thing I most enjoy about my career, which has spanned everything from leasing and property management to development and sales, are the continual challenges with which I am presented. Each new situation and every new deal generates creativity and new strategies, and maybe best of all, they introduce me to new people from various cities, different industries and from all walks of life. I have had many opportunities and successes in my career; most notably, the redevelopment of the Gulf and Western Building into the world renowned Trump International Hotel and Tower, and the $40 million redevelopment of the USX Tower in Pittsburgh, where I leased an average of 200,000 square feet annually during a five-year period. However, what has proven the most rewarding for me is the strategic leadership role I currently serve at MB Real Estate. As Chairman & CEO of MB Real Estate, I am responsible for the operations and management of the private full-service real estate company with offices in Chicago and New York. This opportunity has enabled me to reposition and develop numerous high-profile and successful projects; lead the substantial growth of the firm’s service lines; and provide guidance and mentorship to a talented group of professionals. While I continue my work in new business development, pursue investment opportunities and manage the firm’s operations, I also instill entrepreneurship in my employees and help to foster the success of their careers. In doing so, not only do I hope to continue to leave a city better than it was before I got here, I hope to lead others to do the same.
