Informix Database Administration •Started with Informix (version 3.3) 20 years ago. IBM Informix Certified Administrator for versions 7, 9, 10 and 11. Install and configured Informix servers from 5 through 11. Migrated many databases between versions 3.3, 5, 7, 9, 10 and 11. Have dealt with many different problem situations, hardware failure, table corruption, data loss or altered, dup key/RI issues, memory leaks, assert failures, network connectivity, ODBC connectivity, locking issues, hung systems, response time issues, update statistics issues. Both ontape and onbar backups/restores. Disaster recovery testing. Designed/implemented/maintained Informix fragmentation/partitioned tables. Have worked with Informix ER replication and Informix Auditing. Have analyzed SQL and debugged code. Automated update statistics before V11, have worked with the built in scheduler in V11. Built system to monitor volume and growth for long term trend analysis. Programming skills •Primary author of complex weekly maintenance ksh scripts on 21 real-time regional warehouses. Enhancements include: Parallel job streams, reorgs, reindex, automatic partition rolling, from single site per box to multiple, simultaneous sites per box. Reduced 2 hour maintenance window to 30 minutes. Implemented advanced update statistics algorithms. In previous jobs: •Wrote C code to distribute and invoice radio broadcast tapes on a variety of program formats to a ever-changing list of stations.
