KQED provides Public Media for Northern California. KQED supplies local news, arts, food, cooking, science, and education information through public broadcasting, blogs, podcasts, video, audio, workshops, and events.

I've always been curious. Early on, I was fascinated with storytelling. My passion for reading fiction led to my desire to understand people and discover the underlying motivations that drive people’s behaviors. I became a psychology major with an English minor and eventually entered the world of marketing. I'm a recent college graduate in San Francisco with experience in marketing and communications. Currently, I intern at KQED where I wear many hats by assisting the Communications and Science departments with researching media contacts, pitching content, coordinating events, and managing social media. I pitch our science YouTube series Deep Look to online media outlets and develop working relationships with bloggers interested in our content. One of the highlights of my time at KQED was working on Big Blue Live, a three-night live broadcast presented by PBS and the BBC about Monterey Bay marine life. Working closely with my colleagues, I helped write the Big Blue Live page on the KQED website, coordinate the accompanying event with the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and promote Big Blue Live broadcasts, contests, and events on social media. Seeing the impact our efforts made on audiences was extremely rewarding. My specific areas of specialization include: Social Media, Marketing, Public Relations, Writing, Research, Social Media Metrics, Copywriting. When I'm not working, I thoroughly enjoy exploring San Francisco, photography, hiking, horror movies, traveling, and long walks with my German Shepherd.
