In my years as a Category Manager at Best Buy, I became known for being an engaging and collaborative manager of projects, a clear and thoughtful communicator and a fiercely organized business planner. The uncommon mix of skills I have acquired and grown over the years is an asset I can apply to help just about any kind of organization operate more effectively. Collecting, managing and organizing data that is not always easy to get and making it easy for others to understand is my CORE core competency, and I have found that combination to be uncommon in the workplace. In a time where organizations have nearly unlimited access to data, they often struggle to turn it into actionable information with which to keep the business moving forward. Transforming data into actionable insights is the work I do best. While I have never met a spreadsheet I didn’t like, the majority of my career has been spent in a collaborative “project management” setting where numerous interdependencies exist. In projects ranging from the very small to the 6-12 month variety, my leadership style and organization and communication techniques have proven to be very effective. I have grown to be comfortable in a setting where the outcome depends on the contributions of many, and the work has helped me to develop many professional relationships across the organization.
