The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) protects the health of all Americans and provides essential human services, especially for those least able to help themselves.

Lisa Alsop is the Director of IT Operations for HHS' Office of the Chief Information Office. This role manages the IT Service desk and desktop support, asset management and distribution, data center operations, Email Operations, Platform maintenance and Office 365 integration, Executive level support and the Customer Engagement organization. The team consists of 30 federal staff and 150 contractors that work together to support 12,000 customers and their devices in the Office of the Secretary as well as smaller Operating Divisions in HHS. Lisa has a background in operational support, database management, IT Project Management, IT budget development and reporting. She has worked at Health and Human Services for over fifteen years between FDA, PSC and the Office of the secretary (OS). Accomplishments she is most proud of during her tenure at Health and Human Services include: FDA integration for centralized IT support, partnering with OMB to implement TechStat initiatives across the federal environment and most recently, involvement in the Service and Supply Fund workgroup to establish a mechanism for funding laptop refreshes which had been absent for several years. Lisa is passionate about her role as a public servant and always reminds her team that in the end we all work for the same person – the American taxpayer and it is our duty to ensure that we consistently ensure effective and efficient utilization of federal resources, no matter what our work entails. Lisa holds a BA in Computer Science and Programing from the University of Maryland and is certified in ITIL, PMP and Enterprise Architecture. When not working, Lisa enjoys spending time with her 2 boys and husband, reading, hiking and skiing. She also participates in Church activities where she is involved in religious education for children.
