As vice president of the Complex Asset Group for Fidelity Charitable, I help donors contribute non-cash assets, such as privately held C-corp and S-corp shares, LLC and limited partnership interests—including private equity and hedge fund investments—to charity. Since inception, Fidelity Charitable, an independent public charity with the leading donor-advised fund program in the country, has granted nearly $26 billion to over 215,000 nonprofit organizations. I draw from my deep knowledge and technical expertise in corporate and securities law as I work with donors, advisors, and corporate attorneys to achieve the most favorable tax treatment with the greatest charitable impact, facilitating charitable contributions across the full spectrum of complex assets with due diligence and responsiveness. While helping to expand Fidelity Charitable’s presence on the West Coast, I particularly enjoy working with tech entrepreneurs and venture capitalists and leveraging my extensive understanding of equity financing and executive compensation. I also provide continuing education to nonprofit professionals who seek to maximize their fundraising beyond cash and publicly traded securities. With more than 20 years experience in the financial services industry, I serve as a subject matter expert for financial advisors, collaborating to help them differentiate and grow their business by incorporating charitable planning with complex assets into their practice.
