Established in 1950, Easter Seals Camp Hemlocks serves over 600 campers in Connecticut and Rhode Island during the summer months through a variety of programs. It spreads over an area of more than160 acres and features an indoor heated swimming pool. The camp conducts a range of activities, such as physical recreation, drama, swimming, boating, fishing, gardening, overnight camping, and arts and crafts. It has a staff of over 55 employees. Easter Seals Camp Hemlocks is supported by several communitybased organizations, including the Lions Clubs, Rotary Clubs, foundations, businesses and individual donors. It is accredited by the American Camp Association and licensed by the state of Connecticuts Department of Public Health Youth Camp Licensing Program.
