He was quick to spot the opportunity provided by the emergence of broadband internet in 2000 and was able to find venture capital backing for Cybertill, the first company to provide EPoS systems as a managed service (Cloud Computing). The many smaller and medium businesses who’ve adopted Cybertill since then have been able to change radically into multi-channel businesses with minimal financial outlay.A good communicator who is a hands-on leader Ian is practical and goal-driven, providing a working environment in which others can flourish and develop whilst working towards his clearly drawn vision. He has high standards commercially and ethically, and is an authoritative presence whilst also being consensual and very keen to learn from the others’ experience.In the last few years Ian has been able to combine his interest in the third sector with his retail business skills. Charity leaders such as British Red Cross and PDSA use Cybertill in their shop networks nationwide. A host of smaller charities, notably hospices, have also been able to take advantage of the Cybertill system, and particularly its automated Gift Aid retrieval, to run one or more shops, more effectively and more profitably.A keen cyclist Ian frequently supports charity events.
