I am a product development innovator and technologist for Cree with a passion for driving the development of breakthrough intelligent lighting products that change the way we light the world. This has been the focus of my 20+ year career and I have had fun working with lighting technology ranging from incandescent to LED and all types of lighting control technology. I have been fortunate to be the team leader or marketing lead of the most significant new product releases in the past 15 years. My contributions to these projects have been significant and wide ranging. On all projects, my extensive experience allows me to be the voice of sales, marketing, engineering, and ultimately the customer. I can do this because I have had each of those jobs at some point in my career. I have made significant technical contributions and hold numerous mechanical, optical, and intelligence patents. I am inspired by art, architecture, design, technology and nature. I am creative, a bit unconventional at times, and can be counted on to generate unexpected yet highly effective ideas and concepts. I am motivated by the phrase “You can’t do that” and love to prove that we can. I am passionate about lighting and love to expand my knowledge and share it through products and presentations. I gain the greatest satisfaction from walking into an office, airport, or restaurant and seeing lights I helped create in action. This is especially true for some of the first LED lighting products we create - still going strong and looking great after nearly eight years of operation.
