Andy is a Southwest Missouri native who completed his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Human Resources Management minor at Missouri State University in 2005. Andy completed his Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from Missouri State in 2009. Andy started his career with Mercy-Springfield as an unpaid intern in 2005 before joining Mercy full time as a Benefits Specialist and Professional Recruiter. Andy came to CoxHealth in June 2008 in a newly established Compliance Coordinator position in Human Resources. Shortly after, Andy stepped into an interim position as Benefits Manager, and grew with the position, most recently having served as the System Dir for Benefits and Employee Relations. Andy was named the Vice President of Human Resources for CoxHealth in April 2016. In this role he has responsibility for the 10,000-employee health system’s talent acquisition, retention, engagement, employee and leadership development, total rewards, employee relations and compliance functions. He also maintains responsibility for volunteer services, childcare services, and pastoral care departments. Career highlights include plan administration of the system’s $750 million in employee retirement assets, revamping of the employee wellness program, a 1000% increase in employee wellness participation since 2011, and development of the health system’s employee store. Others include collaboration to create an onsite employee clinic and a specialty medication management program. Andy is active in several organizations and boards including the Ozark, MO School Board, the Harmony House domestic violence shelter board, Missouri State University Alumni Association Strategic Planning Committee, SHRM, VHA Mid-America Benefits Advisory Board, the Springfield Area HR Association, Missouri Chamber of Commerce Industrial Relations Advisory Board, and the CU Community Credit Union Board. Andy has also served as a MO Quality Award Examiner.
