I am passionate about science for elementary children. As an elementary teacher for 10 years and now as a professor of science education developing the next generation of teachers, I know that children are natural scientists. As the author of many articles, as Michigan College Science Teacher of the Year for 2013, and as Director of the Central Michigan GEMS (Great Explorations in Math and Science) Center, I know that every student should be exposed to science on a regular basis.
