I am an experienced Construction Manager in the Civil and bitumen industry. I have been in the Civil Engineering Construction industry since 1992 and I’m currently employed by the TMM Group who are based in Brisbane and the Bowen Basin in Australia and service the Queensland Coal Mining Industry. Previously I had worked for Fulton Hogan Pty Ltd, an Australian/NZ Company and based in Brisbane where as the Divisional Manager for Bitumen Blending and Spray Seal, I oversaw, reported on and managed three Business Units in South East Queensland. I planned, organized, directed, controlled and coordinated the Engineering and technical operations for all site requirements. Previously, I had specialized in up market Estate development for 2 ½ years. I have gained invaluable experience over the years in Infrastructural development, road construction and now pavement products. I have knowledge of building and structural work, as well as mechanical road rehabilitation. I have also used many different pipeline products, ranging from PVC plastic, HDPE, vitreous clay, ductile iron, concrete, asbestos to galvanized steel etc. Having worked in countries like Uganda, Swaziland and Mozambique, and lived and worked most of my life in South Africa, I have developed excellent people skills when coming to understand different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. I have had a number of highlights during my career, one of which was in Uganda constructing self sufficient MTN mobile telecommunication towers as well as road reconstruction for US Aid. The last contract I completed in South Africa, was the exclusive ‘Kindlewood’ development where new and innovative construction techniques were used to create an aesthetically pleasing and an environmentally friendly ‘Ergonomic’ Estate. I have also owned and managed my own earthmoving equipment hire company.
