Channel 4 is a broadcasting media company that founded in 1982.
James oversees all marketing on and off air for Channel 4’s network of channels and services and is responsible for the Marketing, Social Media, Media Planning and Channel Announcer teams. James is also on the board of directors for Freeview. Before James joined Channel 4 marketing he was a Business Director at its in-house creative agency 4creative. He started his career in the ad agencies DFGW, DDB and Young and Rubicam. James has led the multi-award winning Paralympics "Superhumans" marketing in both 2012 and 2016. James has also been responsible for rebranding all of Channel 4‘s network including the digital platform 4OD as All 4 and the core channel, Channel 4. In 2015 Campaign Magazine made Channel 4 its advertiser of the year and Media Week awarded it the Grand Prix for the Humans marketing campaign. Marketing Week also declared that Channel 4 was the most successful British brand at communicating diversity in its marketing and advertising. In 2016 the Marketing Society made Channel 4 "Brand of the Year" and Campaign Magazine awarded the Superhumans campaign "Campaign of the Year".
