I joined Pearson as a sales professional in New York City in 1990. In my first week my manager, Jerry Higgins, said 'you are making this territory your own.' That spirit has resonated with me ever since. I want everyone on my team to be their own CEO. I want everyone on my team to run their piece of the business as if they are their own CEO, and I strive to empower them to do so. I’m a builder of teams and an entrepreneur at the core. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work in world-class organizations made of exceptional people who make a difference in the business of education. I love this industry for the students and educators we serve, the contributions we make, and the mission we feel every day to improve opportunity through education. At Cengage Learning I want to be part of a team that helps transforms the education business into something different than it has been – something truly special.
