Sharon Sng is an experienced investment professional, equipped with a strong foundation as an investment banker for 12 years. She has been recently appointed to the credit committee of a HKSE listed company for their debt restructuring plan, representing bondholders. She was most recently with CapitaLand as SVP, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, with primary responsibility for developing and growing the Indonesia platform for CapitaLand Group, where she was entrusted to lead and build the local team in Jakarta since 2016. Her banking and corporate experience has provided her with a broad skill set to guide / lead businesses looking to grow in new markets in ASEAN. Her career within CapitaLand kicked off as Head of Corporate Finance within the Group CFO Office, where she was responsible for the group’s capital Markets transactions, debt & equity, leading the establishment of their EMTN program. Having experience with quarterly financial reporting to the board, she also provided strategic insight for Investor Relations, participating in investor conferences. Being responsible for Group level M&A, notable transactions include the privatisation of CapitaMalls Asia and divestment of Australand. She was the key project leader in establishing the Group’s ERM framework in 2012. She concurrently oversaw the Group’s investments (in StorHub) and activities in new markets such as Vietnam and Indonesia, before assuming her current role as Country Head of Indonesia. From 1997-2010, Ms Sng was an investment banker starting with Citibank, followed by tenures at Lehman Brothers and BNP Paribas, where her sector coverage included Telecoms, Media, Banks, Energy and Agriculture. Country coverage was primarily South East Asia focused, while North Asia was also covered when she was based in HK. She has extensive fund raising and Capital Markets experience for both fixed income and equity. Her last position was Director, South East Asia at BNP Paribas where she led & executed notable transactions such as Maybank’s acquisition of BII in Indonesia. She is a member of the Advocacy and Research Committee within the Singapore Institute of Directors, and is also a member there. She is the immediate past President (2017-2020) of the International Wine & Food Society of Singapore (established 1965) and has served as Secretary to the Chevaliers des Tastevin du Singapore since 2016.
