A Southern California native with deep roots in surf, skate, and art culture, in recent years Casey Ryder has emerged as a top creative in the realm of leading-edge brand design. Currently, Ryder is serving as the Sr. Creative Director for Nike’s industry-first surf category Hurley, where he's helping drive the implementation of a brand-wide design renaissance. While bringing to market some of the label’s most innovative executions across all categories and consulting on top design initiatives for Nike & Converse, he’s also helping streamline internal processes to create the best products with the greatest efficiency. Previously, Casey served as Associate Creative Director at Studio Number One, an independent marketing & design agency founded by global counterculture art icon Shepard Fairey. Working directly with clients at SNO, Ryder proved his ability to intuitively discern a brand’s needs and lead teams to execute forward-thinking campaigns across all media including broadcast, print & out-of-home, experiential marketing, and digital that have generated millions in impressions & new revenue worldwide. Ryder also played a key role in original product design and concepting for brands like Coca-Cola and Levi’s, and led UI/UX design for SNO’s digital clients including the ground-up development of the LA Museum of Contemporary Art’s new MoCATV, an industry-leading online content platform. As a contributing Art Director & Brand Designer for Shepard Fairey’s Obey Clothing line, Ryder was also a leading force in helping shape the the industry-leading apparel brand's design and graphic direction throughout its rise as one of the top-selling youth culture brands worldwide. Additionally, Ryder has collaborated with Fairey on several high-profile art-based projects, including Artists For Peace and Justice; and his personal illustrations have helped bring articles to life in magazines like Wallpaper, Swindle, and Bloomberg.
