Jonathan Robbins has over twenty years of experience handling complex regulatory and litigation matters. He represents public and private companies, as well as individuals, in connection with investigations and administrative and enforcement proceedings brought by federal, state, and self-regulatory bodies, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Florida Attorney General’s Office, Florida Department of Financial Services, and Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. In addition to representing clients in complex commercial disputes and fiduciary claims, Jonathan has developed a particular niche defending broker-dealers and registered persons in securities related cases filed in both federal and state courts, as well as in FINRA arbitration proceedings addressing both customer and industry disputes.Jonathan has served as an arbitrator in numerous securities arbitrations between both customers and members and associated persons and members. He has represented dozens of broker-dealers and clearing firms ranging in size from smaller, regional broker-dealer and investment advisory firms to major national wirehouses. Jonathan frequently represents clients both adverse to the SEC and works with the SEC as counsel for Receivers appointed by the U.S. District Courts.In addition to his work in the financial services industry, Jonathan also serves as the Leader of Akerman's Regulated Substances Task Force, which provides counsel to clients on the complex legal and business issues impacting companies with interests in the regulated substances industries.
