As a recognized transformational business and community leader, I have a strong blended technical, operational, and managerial background. As a native of Syracuse, I began my professional career General Electric Company. After serving in many technical and senior management positions during my 13-year tenure, I found my own Syracuse-based software company, PROSOFT (now PROMERGENT), and became a nationally-recognized expert on change/workflow management. I remain president and chief executive officer of PROMERGENT and a second company, ServeCentral LLC. I have developed software and systems in highly complex integrated electronic environment systems, successfully marketing the products of his two software companies to the U.S. Navy, the Federal Aviation Administration, and a multitude of commercial businesses. In addition, after serving for three years on the WCNY Board of Trustees, in 2005 I became and still serve as the President & CEO of WCNY Public Media. I have transformed this organization into a fast-paced, growth oriented, nimble business that has become a recognized national leader throughout the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). I am also the President & CEO of the Joint Master Control Operating Co., Inc. (JMCO), providing the day-to-day operational and engineering management/services for the television program distribution services for up to 500 streams of Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) stations streams. A native of the Syracuse area, I have a strong commitment to improving the quality of life in the community. Not only do I do that through the growth of programming and services at WCNY, but through my volunteer work. Notably, I led the effort to bring live symphonic music back to the area, working with musicians and funders to create and launch Symphoria.
