Currently architecting systems to drive next-generation sequencing from chemistry through to bioinformatics and interpretation. I'm a dynamic, "agile" advocate with interests in distributed, scalable architectures, IT security, visualisation, analysis pipelines, workflows, LIMS, leveraging virtualisation, cloud & grid technology. I've an extensive background in developing and managing terascale data handling systems, scalable web systems, service-oriented architecture (SOA) and rapid application development with Open Source Software. I spend a lot of my time building applications with Perl, Javascript and XHTML and love doing so. I aim to work with passionate people, interesting novel technologies and engaging challenges.
