GE Power is a world leader in power generation and water technologies for utilities, independent power producers and industrial applications. Our portfolio includes gas and steam turbines, distributed power, wind and renewable energy, nuclear energy, and water processing technologies.

I am a global leader, investor, active board member and former CEO supporting businesses and teams across multiple sectors for optimal performance, growth and impact. I was a Senior Managing Director and one of the founding partners in Infrastructure at Blackstone for over 4 years before my retirement and transition now serving as Executive Advisor and on several boards. Prior to Blackstone, I spent nearly 25 years at GE. My responsibilities spanned supporting Mergers & Acquisitions in GE Corporate, serving as the product general manager for large steam turbines, and heading up GE Healthcare's International business. I moved to Power Generation in 2005 as vice president. I led GE Power & Water, GE's largest industrial business, with $28 billion in global revenue and over 52,000 employees worldwide. During this time, I helped grow overall revenues 70 percent from $16.5 billion to $28 billion over a 10-year period, and lead the successful turnaround of the Wind, Thermal and Water units and the expansion of Distributed Power. I also oversaw major acquisitions in the Healthcare, Energy and services sectors as well as served as a member of the GE Corporate Executive Council. I’ve played an active role in international institutions for public-private cooperation and energy related organizations, including the World Economic Forum (WEF), World Energy Council, International Energy Agency, and Edison Electric Institute. In January 2014 and again in 2015, I was appointed Chair of the WEF Electricity Technology Community. In January 2017, I served as a Steward of the WEF’s Shaping the Future of Digital Economy and Society System. I have a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Duke University and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. I serve on the Duke Engineering School Board of Visitors and the Michigan Ross School of Business Advisory Board. My wife and I have three sons and live in Duxbury, MA.
